Getting Started
Basic Overview
JesusShirts.com offers a number of features for designing your own apparel:
- Select from a wide collection of apparel Products.
- Select a design from a large collection of Store Designs or a Library of Images.
- Create and maintain your own gallery of Images.
- An Image can be a digital photograph, digital artwork, text, or a combination of all three.
- All Designs are printed on the apparel using the latest digital printing technology.
Adding Images
Uploading an Image
Designs can consist of an Image or multiple Images. In order to use your own Image, you must upload it from your computer.
- In the design editor, make sure you are on the "Images and Text" tab. Click on "Add Printing Image"

- The Image library dialog box will open. Click on "Browse" to upload an Image from your computer to the Library.
Once you have uploaded an Image, you can use it on any apparel Product.
Accepted File Types
The JesusShirts.com designer can accept the following Image file types;
- JPEG
- PNG
- GIF
- TIFF
If you are going to upload an Image that contains transparency we recommend using a PNG file.
What Resolution or Size of Image Should I Use?
Uploaded Images should be as large as possible. When you upload an Image, the designer will automatically scale it as large as possible without losing quality.
WARNING: When an Image is stretched too large on an apparel Product, the quality meter in the editing controls area will turn red. This is an indication that you have oversized the Image, and that its print quality may be poor. If you add a Product to the shopping cart with an oversized Image on it, you will be warned about the oversized Image.
Adding a Design to a Product
To add a design to any apparel Product.
- Select an apparel Product by clicking on it.
- Select an area (pocket or body) for adding the design to the Product you have chosen.
- Click on "Add Printing Image" to open the Image Library.
- Click on "Store Designs" or "Library" to display designs in different categories.
- Click on "Your Images" to open the Library with the Images that you uploaded in it.

- Select the Image you wish to add, and click on "Select Image" at the bottom of the dailog box.
The Image will now appear on the Product in the area you have chosen. For multiple images, repeat the above process.
Moving and Scaling Graphics
Moving Graphics
Once you have added an Image to an apparel Product, you can select the Image by clicking on it.
- When an Image is selected, a square with size handles on its corners will be displayed around the Image.
- When an Image is selected, a variety of editing tools will become active (on the right) of the Image.
Layering
Layering your Images gives you control over their final appearance. When you have multiple Images added to the same area, you may want one Image to appear on top of another. This is the layer order.
- Use the up and down arrows to change the layer order, as shown below.

Deleting
To remove an Image, it must selected.
- Click on the Image, either on the Product, or in the editing area to select it.
- Click on "Delete" in the edting area to delete the Image, as shown below.

Rotating
Once you have selected an Image, you can rotate it by using the rotate controls, as shown below.
- Click on the left or right arrows to rotate the Image, or move the dial on the circle with your mouse.

Positioning
Once you have selected an Image, you can position it anywhere within the zone (pockets or body) on the garment where is was placed.
- Click on one of the position controls (shown below) to change the position of the selected Image.

Resizing
Once you have selected an Image, you can resize it within the zone (pockets or body) on the Product where is was placed. There are two ways to resize a selected Image;
- Use one of the size controls as shown below.
- Drag one of the handles that is displayed at each corner of the selected Image.

WARNING: When you stretch an Image too large, you will notice that the quality meter (on the right) will turn red. This is an indication that you have oversized the Image, and that its print quality may be poor. If you add a product to the shopping cart with an oversized Image on it, you will be warned about the oversized Image
Quality Meter
The quality meter indicates the quality of your Image for digital printing.
- If any portion of the quality meter is green, the Image will print with good quality.
- If any portion of the quality meter is yellow, the print quality will still be OK for printing.
- If any portion of the quality meter is red, the Image does not have enough resolution to print well.

Select Transparent Color
If your Image has a "white box" around it, you can remove the white box by clicking on "Select transparent color", as shown below. A dialog will open in which you can select a color to make transparent.

If you select white, all the white color will be removed from your image, which will remove the white box. However, other areas of white will also be removed from your Image, which may not be wanted.
Advanced
The designer has a series of advanced effects and borders that can be applied to any selected Image. To access these advanced effects and borders, click on "advanced", as shown below.

Adding Text
Text Overview
You can add yuor own text to any area (pockets or body) of the apparel Product you have chosen. You can position, size, rotate and color the text, as well as add special effects. Text can be controlled from within the text layer on the right, or by selecting the text with your mouse and positioning it on your product.
- Select "Add Printing Text", type your text into the dialog box that opens, and click on "Add Text".
- To edit the text, click on "Edit Text"
Text Controls
Each block of text that you add to an apparel Product is treated as its own layer. Each selected layer of text can be edited using the folllowing controls;
- Align: Left, Center, and Right justify, mainly used for multiple lines of text.
- Position: Positions the text layer just like any other Image.
- Size: Resizes the text layer just like any other Image.
- Rotate: Rotates the text layer just like any other Image.
- Font: Change the text font.
- Color: Changes the text color.
- Bold and Italic: Makes the text bold or Italic.
Editing Text
Once you have added text to a Product, to edit the text.
- Select the text layer.
- Click on "Edit Text" (shown below), make edits in the dialog box that opens, and click on OK.

Using the Font Selector
When you click the font selector in the text editing ares, a font dialog box will open. Fonts are grouped into categories. When the dialog opens, all of the fonts in one category are listed on the right.
- Click on the category to list only the fonts in that category on the right.
- Double click on a font, or select it and click on OK.
Text Effects
You can add special effects, gradient, warp, and stroke to the selected text.
- Click on "Edit Text" in the text editing area.
- Click on "advanced" in the text editing area.
Four tabs will be displayed; Effect, Gradient, Warp, and Stroke.
- Effect Adds a special effect to the selected text
None: Removes any effects that were previously added to the text.
Shadow: Adds a shadow to the text. You can also choose the color of the shadow, apply a blurred outline with the Blur tool, and change the angle of the shadow with the Offset tool.
Glow: Adds a glow to the text. You can also choose the color of the glow, and change the glow strength with the Glow Strength tools.
- Gradient Adds a gradient coloring over the surface of the selected text.
Vertical: Applies a vertical color blend to the body of the text. You can also choose the second color for the blend.
Horizontal: Applies a horizontal colour blend to the body of the text. You can also choose the second color for the blend.
- Warp Adds a warp curve to the selected text.
None: Removes all warping effects.
Wavy: Applies a wavy curve effect.
Expanding: Adds perspective to the text.
Fisheye: Widens the text in the middle.
Squeeze Narrows the text in the middle.
- Stroke Adds an outline to the selected text. You can modify the color and width of the outline.
Color: Changes the color of the outline.
Width: Changes the width of the outline.
Purchasing
Adding a Product to the Cart
When you have finished designed your apparel Product and wish to purchase it;
- Click on "Add to Cart", which is located at the bottom of the designer page, as shown below.

Clicking on "Add to Cart" added the designed Product to the shopping cart. Next, the shopping cart will be displayed with the Product in it. From here you can continue to checkout or add another Product to the shopping cart.
Selecting Multiple Sizes
You can apply a design to more than one size of the selected Appareal Product. Quantity boxes are displayed next to each Product size, as shown below.
- Enter a quantity into the box next to each size you wish to purchase before you click on "Add to Cart"

Removing a Product From the Cart
You may have multiple Products in your cart, but wish to remove one.
- Click the Cart tab at the top of the designer page to display all the products in your cart.
- Click on "Remove" next to any Product to remove it from the cart.
